Ginya Louise Chanley, 72, passed from this life July 4, 2023, at her home in De Leon. She was born November 21, 1950, in Fort Worth, Texas to Garland Clyde Keltner and Mamie Ruth Caraway Keltner.
Ginya was raised in Seagraves, Texas and graduated from Seagraves High School. One of Ginya's favorite activities growing up was working as the Soda Jerk at her dad's pharmacy. Ginya moved to De Leon in the early 1990's and loved working for a local daycare. She absolutely loved young children. She was a devoted homemaker for her family and loved her children well. She enjoyed all genres of music but especially loved the Rolling Stones. Ginya was always her happiest while spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and sharing meals with her family. Her beloved dogs, Mick and Bianca, brought her such joy. Ginya's loving nature will always be remembered and she will be missed beyond measure.
She is survived by her sons, Clint Chanley and wife, Tabatha, and Casey Chanley and wife, Toni; daughter, Carrie Harlow and husband, Chad; grandchildren, Madison Chanley, Kimberly Chanley, Gemma Chanley, Caleb Chanley, Penny Harlow and Bill Harlow; great-grandchild, Teagan Eubank; brother, Garland Clyde Keltner, Jr. (Bubba); numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family. Ginya was preceded in death by her son, Dustin Chanley; parents, Clyde and Ruth Keltner; and her beloved dogs, Mick and Bianca.
Funeral services celebrating Ginya's life were held Saturday, July 8, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Nowlin Anders Funeral Chapel with Pastor Lowell Ercanbrack officiating. Graveside committal followed in Comyn Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society at National MS Society, PO Box #91891, Washington, D.C. 20090 – 1891 or www.nationalmssociety.org, in memory of Ginya.
