Obituary

Glenn Dale Hall, 83, of De Leon, passed away Monday, February 15, 2016, at home with his family by his side.

He was born January 11, 1933 in Mills County, Texas to Malcolm "Pete" Hall and Jewel Davis Hall. He married Carrie Jo Gregory in 1954 in Lovington, New Mexico.

Glenn worked in highway construction in his early adult years in Lubbock and Seagraves before moving back to De Leon and serving as patrolman and Chief of Police in De Leon from 1963 to 1973. He later operated a grain cutting service in Comanche County and also went on wheat harvests in Kansas.

Glenn served proudly in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was wounded in action twice and was awarded two Purple Hearts. He enjoyed traveling around the country with his camper and had visited all the midwestern and western U.S. states. Glenn was very knowledgeable about birds and migratory waterfowl and enjoyed hunting and fishing and restoring old farm tractors.

He is survived by his wife, Carrie Jo; sons, Shane Hall and Scott Hall; sister, Carrie Ann McGinnis and husband, Bobby, and sister, Sue Brown and husband, Bill; granddaughter, Rene Bagley and husband, James, and their daughter, Zoey, granddaughter, Shana Fleming and her husband, Drew, and son, Jack; great-granddaughter, Mariah Hall; and numerous aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Glenn was preceded by his parents, Malcolm "Pete" and Jewel Hall; brothers, Kenneth Hall and William Hall; and beloved grandson, Jeramie Scott Hall.

Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday, February 18, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. in Downing Cemetery with Brother Kenneth Wilson officiating.

The Hall family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Nowlin Anders Funeral Home.
