Hannah Lou Brumbelow Mahan Jones, 81, of De Leon, went to join her Lord and Savior Monday, November 10, 2014, with her family at her side.
She was born November 23, 1932 in Comanche County to Ike Brumbelow and Bess Underwood Brumbelow.
Hannah Lou married Gayle Mahan in 1950 in Glen Rose, Texas. She had lived in or near the De Leon community her entire life. She had many jobs outside the home but her primary job was being a devoted homemaker. She attended John Tarleton College for a while after graduating from Comyn High School. Hannah Lou was member of St. Joe Baptist Church in De Leon. She enjoyed making art, especially painting, and floral design. Hannah Lou's greatest joy in life was spending time with her family and many friends.
She leaves behind a loving legacy with her family: sons, Jimmy Mahan and wife, Karen, Toby Mahan and wife, Becky, Buzzy Mahan and wife, Carol, and Joey Mahan and wife, Ronda; grandchildren, Mike Mahan and wife, Kristi, Craig Mahan and wife, Shana, Josh Mahan and wife, Carol, Ryan Mahan and wife, Jill, Mandy Weems and husband, Whit, Lee Mahan, Cody Mahan and wife, Amy, Erica Mahan, Emily Mahan and fiancé, Ronnie Faimoa; great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Taylor, Adrian, Tate, Avery, Whitney, Gage, Skyler, Rhianna, Lexi and Gunner; brother, Bob Brumbelow and wife, Darla; and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family.
Hannah was preceded in death by Gayle Mahan and Ted Jones; infant son, John Mark Mahan, and parents, Ike and Bess Brumbelow.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 12, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Joe Baptist Church with Brother Jackie Auvenshine officiating. Graveside services followed in Round Grove Cemetery.
