Herman Earl Gilder, 81, of De Leon, passed away Monday, January 12, 2015. He was born June 19, 1933, in Luling, Texas, to Andrew and Bonnie Mae Diggs Gilder.
Herman lived in the Round Grove and De Leon communities his entire life. He was a life-long farmer. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time outdoors. He loved his family dearly and will be missed beyond measure.
He is survived by his sons, David Gilder and wife, Debbie, and Robert Gilder; daughters, Anne Stegemoller and husband, Kenneth, Bonnie Johnston and husband, Rodie, Hillary Ortega and husband, Fabian, Crystal Teacle and husband, Chris, Valerie Banda, and Rozanne Dycus and husband, James; grandchildren, Cody Stegemoller, Cory Stegemoller, Darren Stegemoller, Alesha Borsellino, D'Anne Whiteley, Derek Gilder, Clara Ortega; great-grandchildren, Blaine, Bailey, Bryce, Madison, Christian, Baylor, Ridge, Jhenna, Everett and Evan; brother, Raymond Lee Gilder; sister, Shirley Parker; numerous nieces and nephews; and other extended family.
Herman was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Bonnie Mae Diggs Gilder; brothers, Bill Gilder, Richard Gilder and Gene Gilder; and sisters, Emadoyle Boyd and Christine Lawson.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 14, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at Nowlin Anders Funeral Home with Brother Jackie Auvenshine officiating. Graveside services followed in Oliver Springs Cemetery.
