Obituary

Hilaria "Lila" Ramirez Reyna, 71, of De Leon, passed from this life and met her Lord and Savior face to face March 11, 2022. She was born January 14, 1951, in Nixon, Texas to Ysidro Ramirez and Barbarita Garcia Ramirez. Lila married her loving husband of forty-seven years, Jose (Joe) Reyna, in 1974 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Comanche.

Lila graduated from De Leon High School Class of 1970. She then attended Hardin Simmons University. She lived most all her life in De Leon, where she was a faithful member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church for 53 years. She loved serving the Lord in any capacity she could throughout the church. She was faithful to help prepare and serve funeral bereavement meals to families and served the community for many years by reading Rosary Prayers. Lila retired from De Leon ISD after many years working as a dedicated Teacher's Aide. She loved her career in education and the opportunity it provided her to help children learn and grow.

Lila was a devoted homemaker for her family. She was an attentive wife/mother and was always selfless in caring for her family. Her family was her greatest joy in life. She loved playing games, bingo, and working puzzles with her grandchildren. She thoroughly enjoyed spending times outdoors, gardening and growing beautiful flowers. She was a talented seamstress and loved sewing dresses. Lila was an excellent cook and spent a lot of time teaching her grandchildren how to cook her signature recipes. Lila will always be remembered for her kind and loving heart. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Joe; son, Michael Reyna and wife, Angie; daughter, Leslie Landa and husband, Chago; grandchildren, Xavier, Clarissa, Domonic, Gabriella, Anthony and Micaela; brothers, Raymond Ramirez and wife, Mary, Joe Ramirez and wife, Virginia, Moses Ramirez and partner, Joelda, and Cuco Ramirez and wife, Dorothy; sisters, Dora Grisham, Margie Duske, Helen DeLaTorre, Mary Ann Moreno, Martha Ramirez and Janie Taylor; numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family. Lila was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Lewis Ramirez.
