Howard Neil
Pack
Jan 6, 1933 — Jun 27, 2022
Howard Neil Pack, 89, of Desdemona, passed peacefully from this life Monday, June 27, 2022. He was born January 6, 1933, in Erath County, Texas to C.W. and Thelma Raunut Pack. Howard married his loving wife, Mary Beth Spruill, June 15, 1957. She preceded him in death in 2013.
Howard was raised in the Desdemona community and graduated from Desdemona High School. After high school, Howard proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1952 until 1956. He was employed with and retired from the United States Postal Service after 33 years of dedicated service in Ft. Worth. While living and raising their family in Ft. Worth, he and Mary Beth would come home to Desdemona as often as they could. After his final retirement, he was so happy to move home to Desdemona for good in the early 1990's. Here, he raised cattle and farmed with his three sons. There was nothing he loved more than farming and taking care of his land alongside his family. Howard was a friendly man and so easy to talk to. He often attended Liberty Baptist Church in Rucker and loved his time spent there. Howard was a loving husband to Mary Beth, an involved dad to his three sons, a special grandfather, a kind neighbor, and a loyal friend to many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his three sons, Kevin Pack and wife, Angela, Brett Pack and wife, Rachel, and Keith Pack and Becky; grandchildren, Preston Pack, Macy Pack, Kendall Pack, Kenley Pack, and Garren Pack; one great-grandchild, Jaxson Salazar; nieces, Paula Farlow and husband, Don, and Vivian Menzel and husband, David; and other extended family. He is also survived by his beloved dog, Red. Howard was preceded in death by his parents, C.W. and Thelma Pack; wife, Mary Beth Pack; and two brothers, Rim Pack and Charles Pack.
Graveside funeral services, with Air Force Military Honors, celebrating Howard's life were held Thursday, June 30, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. in Desdemona Cemetery with Milton Allred officiating.
