Imogene "Jean" McCormick, 88, of De Leon, passed away Monday, June 6, 2016.
She was born April 6, 1928, in Long Creek, Arkansas, to Willis and Anthrea Landon Cary.
Jean was a long-time faithful member of Fair Haven Baptist Church in De Leon. She loved her church and her church family very much. Jean was a devoted and loving caregiver for her family. She worked for many years as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She loved that her career gave her the opportunity to help others. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles and was an avid reader. She had a witty sense of humor and was a devoted and loving friend. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her siblings, Jaynie Jones, Wyndell Cary and wife, Grace, Donald Joe Cary and wife, Maxine, Ronald Cary and wife, Janet; daughter –in-law, JoAnn McKinney; grandchildren, Lance McKinney, Lanetta Varner and husband, Roy, Tresa Gamble and husband, Jimmy, Billy McKinney, Melissa Burch and husband, Andrew, and Tyler McKinney; numerous great-grandchildren and nieces; and other extended family.
Jean was preceded in death by her husbands, Hubert Bill McKinney and Mac McCormick; son, Lanny McKinney; great-grandson, Seth Simmons; parents, Willis and Anthrea Cary; and sister, Sandra Norris.
Funeral services were held Thursday, June 9, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at Fair Haven Baptist Church, De Leon, with Brother Kenneth Wilson officiating. Jean was laid to rest in De Leon Cemetery.
