Obituary

Ira C. "Sonny" Stacy, Jr., 91, of Ft. Worth, passed from this life December 21, 2022. He was born January 18, 1931, in Comanche County to Ira Clemon Stacy and Bertha Inez Brownlee Stacy.

Ira graduated from De Leon High School. On March 3, 1951, he married Ella Louise Hufstutler. Ira proudly served in the United States Army. After his military service, Ira worked for the Aircraft Plant for a while before becoming a Texas State Trooper. Ira would serve as a Trooper for over thirty years until his retirement. In his free time, he loved attending race car and motor sporting events. He loved his family deeply and was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his sons, Ira Eugene Stacy (Linda) and Milton Earl Stacy (Phillis); grandchildren, Jessica Moore (Richard), Jennifer Hernandez (Vincent), Thomas Stacy (Nicki), Cheryl Henault (Josh), Christopher Stacy (Jennifer); step grandson, William Horton (Shonda); numerous great-grandchildren, and other extended family. Ira has been reunited with his wife, Ella; and his parents.

Graveside funeral services were held Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. in De Leon Cemetery with Pastor Randy Munter officiating. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice in memory of Ira.
