He was born December 19, 1940, in Beattie, Texas to Grady Hardin Auvenshine and Clara Elizabeth Keith Auvenshine. Jackie married Susie Brumbelow June 2, 1961, and they enjoyed a loving marriage of forty-nine years until her passing in 2010.

Jackie was owner and operator of Foremost Milk for many years. He later was co-owner of Express Medical in De Leon for many decades. He was a longtime beloved Preacher for Hasse Baptist Church and St. Joe Baptist Church. Jackie loved the Lord with all his heart as was evident in how he treated others and shared the promises of God with anyone he could. He was a kind, patient man, who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors. He loved baseball and was an avid Texas Rangers fan. Jackie's family meant everything to him and he loved them well. He leaves his family and many friends with wonderful memories of devoted family man, a loyal friend, and a faithful disciple of God. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his son, Eddie Auvenshine and wife, Nita; daughter, Melissa Smith and husband, Steve; grandchildren, Cody Smith and wife, Sydney, Ty Smith, Emily Nowlin and husband, Shalor, and Ashley Auvenshine; great grandsons, Parker Nowlin and Owen Jack Nowlin; sister, Nell Strong; numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
