Jackie "Bud' Hammett, 82, of Boerne, Texas, passed away on June 17, 2021, as a result of a fall. Born on August 20, 1938, he grew up in De Leon, Texas. He is preceded in death by his wife, Ursula; parents, Pearl and "Willy" Hammett; and sister, Earnestine Hammett.

His history includes his employment with 3M in Germany, where he met his wife Ursula, and fulfilled his military career in the US Army.  He is remembered by his cousin Debbie Anderson as a good-natured, jovial relation growing up, and a great artist. His constant companion in Boerne, Joe Valderas, remembers him as a friend and "a nice man". Joe was by his side at the end.

In honor of Jackie's final wishes, he was laid to rest in De Leon Cemetery next to his wife, Ursula, with no public services.
