Obituary

James (Jimmy) Dean Horn, 66, passed away November 5, 2021, in Ft. Worth with his loving family by his side. He was born March 14, 1955, to James and Ruth Horn whom both preceded him in death. He was especially close to his parents. He loved and honored them as well as his Lord and Savior. They have been reunited in Heaven and Jimmy is safe and pain free.

In 2006, Jimmy married Pamela Dyson, the love of his life! They were inseparable and enjoyed road trips, numerous hobbies, and adventures together. One of their favorites was "dirt roadin'" where they would gather wood for the fire pit, pick wild plums, and garlic pods. Jimmy was especially proud of Pam's homemade jams and jellies, most of which he gave away while bragging on her. She never cooked a meal he didn't rave about.

Jimmy was a skilled carpenter and builder, and he completed many local jobs including building the First Baptist Church Parsonage. He was self employed with his own construction business until he and Pam bought and managed Mom and Pop Pizza Shop in De Leon. Jimmy took care of all the maintenance work and completely remodeled the interior of the restaurant. Jimmy was at home in the kitchen and could make a mean pizza as well as keeping the shop stocked with smoked brisket. Jimmy was loved by all who knew him and never met a stranger.

He is survived by his loving wife, Pamela; two sons, Jason Horn and Joseph Horn; two daughters, Jennifer Horn and Jessica Horn; two bonus sons, Dyson Wright and Jimmy Burress; two bonus daughters, Jennifer Wright and Nicole Burress; and nineteen grandkids. Jimmy was a fun PaPa who loved to play with his grandkids. When they were small at their Tree Trimming Christmas party, Jimmy would slip out the back door and come in the front dressed as Santa complete with black plastic trash bag full of toys. Then he would set them to giggling by chasing Pam down and kissing her. That moment has become one of our prized family photos. Jimmy is also survived by one brother, Paul Horn; one sister, Valerie Horn; beloved uncles and aunts, Bill and Pat Horn, Mark and Laura Horn, J.T. and Linda Horn, Margaret Olsen, Linda Hahn, Joe and Fern Poe, Elouise Horn Justice; other extended family; and many loving friends. Jimmy has been reunited with his parents, James and Ruth Horn; and brother, Bill Michael Horn.

Funeral services celebrating Jimmy's life were held Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at Desdemona First Baptist Church with Brother Johnny Hart officiating. Interment followed in Howard Cemetery.

If desired, memorial contributions may be made in Jimmy's memory to St. Jude Children's Hospital at 501 S. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to Desdemona First Baptist Church.
