Janice Simpson, 88, of De Leon, went home to her Lord and Savior Monday, January 28, 2019. She was born January 2, 1931, in Comanche County, Texas to Robert Eargle and Grace Parker. Janice married Bobby Carl Simpson February 3, 1950, in Comanche.

Bob and Janice moved back to their hometown of De Leon from Vernon in 1971. They were long-time members of De Leon First United Methodist Church. Janice was a loving and devoted homemaker for her family. She also worked alongside her husband in their family business for over thirty years, Dabney Hardware. She enjoyed cooking, bowling, sewing, and watching sports (especially her beloved Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers). Janice loved her family dearly and they were the center of her life. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. "Granny" will also be greatly missed by her grand-dogs, Jinkins, Jack, and Callie, who she loved to spoil by feeding forbidden treats under the table.

Janice is survived by her son, Bobby Charles Simpson; daughters, Joni Simpson and Jana Simpson and husband, Trey Williams; grandchildren, Bobby James Simpson and fiancé, Catherine O'Neill, Caroline Williams and Amelia Williams; numerous nieces and nephews; and other extended family. Janice was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bobby Carl Simpson (2003); parents, Robert Eargle Parker and Grace Jones Parker; brothers, Bob Parker, Bill Parker and Jack Parker; sisters, Sue Ormsby, Betty Hodges, Virginia Turner and her twin sister, Clarice Goforth.

Funeral services celebrating Janice's life were held Saturday, February 2, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at De Leon First United Methodist Church with Pastor John Woodard officiating. Janice was laid to rest beside her husband, Bob, in De Leon Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Joel Simpson, Jack Simpson, Mike Mahan, Mark Cottrell, Robert Ormsby and Jim Abbey.
