Janie Luna, 48, of De Leon, passed way Monday, December 23, 2013, in Ft. Worth.
Janie was born February 17, 1965, in Fredericksburg, Texas, to Guadalupe and Palmira Reyna Gonzales. She married Amaro Luna January 13, 1985 in De Leon.
Janie had lived in the De Leon community her entire life. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church of De Leon. She was employed with De Leon ISD as an administrative secretary. She loved to read, especially the Twilight and Hunger Games series. Janie also collected tea pots. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Janie loved the De Leon community and will be missed by many.
She is survived by her husband, Amaro Luna; sons, Jason Gonzales and wife, Mindy, Christopher Luna and Jonathon Luna; daughter, Stephanie Rivera and husband, Ruben; grandchildren, Joey Garcia, Elin Rivera and Kileigh Gonzales; father, Guadalupe Gonzales; mother, Palmira Reyna; sister, Lolly Vara and husband, Joe; brother, Anthony Gonzales; numerous nieces and nephews; and other extended family.
Janie has gone home to join her stepfather, Tomas Reyna; and nephew, Anthony Gonzales.
Funeral services were held Friday, December 27, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in De Leon. Graveside services followed in De Leon Cemetery. Father McNamara officiated the services.
