Jerry Brent Cogburn's Obituary
Jerry Brent Cogburn, 54, of Abilene, passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2013.
He was born July 11, 1959 in De Leon to Jerry Lee Cogburn and Sharon La Rue Farrow Cogburn.
Jerry worked in the oil field industry as a driller. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He especially liked to hunt rattlesnakes. Jerry was a wonderful cook and he loved the restaurant business just like his grandpa, Donal Farrow.
He is survived by his mother, Sharon Walker of Stephenville; sons, Jason Wayne Cogburn, Donal Brent Cogburn and wife, Candice, Christopher Doyle Cogburn and wife, Leslie, and Andrew Dwayne Cogburn; grandchildren, Marshall Cogburn, Ryan Cogburn, Riggin Cogburn, Dylan Cogburn and Taiah Cogburn; sister, Sharon Denise Connell and husband, Tony; half-brothers, Michael Cogburn and Wayne Cogburn; niece, ShaShawna Bush and husband, Kirby, and their children, Donal and Daniel; special friend; Carrie Shaffer and her children; and other extended family.
Jerry has gone on to join his father, Jerry Lee Cogburn; and daughter, Christal Cogburn.
A graveside memorial service was held on Saturday, October 26, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. in Downing Cemetery. Brother Jackie Auvenshine officiated the services.
If desired, memorial donations may be made to Cook Chidren's Hospital at 801 7th Street, Ft. Worth, Texas 76401, in memory of Jerry.
