Jerry Don Iley, 77, passed away February 7, 2018, in Ranger, with his loving family by his side. He was born August 28, 1940, in Gorman to Henry Morgan Iley and Valera Lavada Gowan Iley.

Jerry was raised in De Leon and graduated from De Leon High School in 1959. He later graduated from Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science and worked for over fifty years in the funeral industry. Jerry worked in various funeral homes in Dallas, De Leon, Morton, Haskell and Temple. He was dedicated to serving families in their greatest time of need and he loved his career. He was a loving father, son, brother and friend. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was survived by his children, Michael Don Iley Sterne and partner, David Sterne, of Indianapolis; daughter, Judith Fae Yowell of Ranger; grandchildren, Daniel Iley, Mitchell Sanders, Amanda Iley and Lacy Sanders; great-grandchildren, Nevaeh, Chloie, Lyla, Ethan and Landon; sister, Marie Arnold; brothers, Howard Iley and wife, Georgianne, and Wayne Iley and wife, Wilma; mother of his children, Lenda Nabors Campbell; nephews, David Iley, Ronnie Arnold, Eddie Iley, Fred Iley and Richard Iley; nieces, Debbie Stanford, Barbara Goodson and Julia Morris; special caregiver, Joe Ackles; beloved long-time employer, Linda Owens; and other extended family.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Valera Iley; partner, Harold Binns; son, James Morgan Iley; brother, Glenn Iley, sister, Wanda Bailey; nephews, Phillip Iley and Steve LaGow; and nieces, Donna Ecker and Sandy Reeves.

Funeral services were held Saturday, February 10, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at Nowlin Anders Funeral Home with Pastor Richard Watson officiating. Graveside services followed in De Leon Cemetery.
