Jewel Dean Murdoch Morris, 94, of De Leon, went home to her Lord and Savior Monday, August 22, 2016.
She was born November 18, 1921, in Gerard, Texas to John and Sarah Ann Waldon Murdoch. Jewel married Jewel Thomas (J.T.) Morris March 5, 1938, in De Leon, Texas.
Jewel was a loving and devoted homemaker for her family. She was always a committed caretaker for everyone in her family and loved them all dearly. She lived in the De Leon area most all of her life. She was a long-time faithful member of St. Joe Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking for her family and many friends, and working in her yard. She will be missed by all who loved her.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Janna Morris Trussell and husband, Lynn; grandsons, Dwain Morris and wife, Stephanie, and Todd Morris; great-grandchildren, McKinsey Morris and Jordan Tyler (J.T.) Morris; numerous nieces and nephews; and other extended family. Jewel was preceded in death by her husband, Jewel Thomas (J.T.) Morris; son, Benny Dwain Morris; and parents, John and Sarah Murdoch.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 24, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. at Nowlin Anders Funeral Home with Brother Jackie Auvenshine officiating. Graveside services followed in De Leon Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Johnny Robinson, Ronnie Robinson, Richard Harris, Harlon Harris, Dirk Murdoch and Johnny Gayle Murdoch. Honorary pallbearers were Ronald Gary Murdoch, Ron Childers, Jackie Johnson and Randy Johnson.
