Obituary

Jim Adams, 79, of De Leon, went home to his Lord and Savior November 23, 2019, with his loving family by his side. He was born June 24, 1940, in Dallas to Paul Doris "PD" Adams and Ruby Lee Gooding Adams. Jim married his loving wife of 56 years, Helen McCann Adams, September 14, 1961, in Huckabay, Texas.

Jim proudly served in the United States Army and was stationed in Korea as a helicopter pilot. He was honored to serve his country. He and Helen lived in De Leon in the late 1960's where he opened and managed the Duke and Ayers Store. They then lived in Erath County where they owned a dairy farm. They moved to Ozona, Texas and later to Sonora, Texas where he owned Jim's Thriftway Grocery Store. They finally returned to De Leon in 1992 to settle. He worked for his dear friends, Jim and Linda Frank, at Frank's Home Center until his retirement.

Jim and Helen were long time members of North Side Baptist Church, De Leon. Jim was an ordained Baptist Preacher and loved sharing about the Lord with others. He was a master of all trades and could fix just about anything. He was kind and generous hearted always offering help to those in need or less fortunate. His family was the greatest joy in his life and he was always his happiest while spending time with his children and grandchildren.
