Obituary

Jim Bob Wofford, 66, peacefully passed from this life on November 6, 2021, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in De Leon on August 27, 1955, to Bob and Betty Wofford. Jim Bob married his devoted and loving wife of forty-six years, Terry Young, on June 21, 1975, in Desdemona.

Jim Bob was a lifelong resident of De Leon. He was employed with Barker Shell Station and he and Terry eventually bought that business January 1, 1981, renaming it Wofford Tire & Alignment. In 1987, they began selling used cars and renamed the family business Wofford Used Cars. The business continues today with Terry and their son, Marshall, serving the De Leon community. Jim Bob loved motorcycles and fast cars. He loved going on annual trips with Terry to Las Vegas to attend the Antique Motorcycle Auction. Jim Bob also loved music and was a gifted guitar player. His dogs held a special place in his heart. Jim Bob was a long-time member of De Leon First Baptist Church and loved his church family dearly. He was always willing to serve however he could within the church. He had a kind and loyal heart and he sincerely cared for his community and many friends. He will be missed immensely by all who knew and loved him.

Jim Bob is survived by his wife, Terry; son, Marshall Wofford and wife, Racheal; daughter, Jessica Wofford; grandchildren, Jayden Wofford, Tyson Wofford and Mallorie Wofford; other extended family; and many dear friends. He has been reunited with his parents, and his grandson, Braeden Wofford.

Funeral services celebrating Jim Bob's life were held Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at De Leon First Baptist Church with Dr. Daniel Harper and Brother Kenneth Wilson officiating.
