Jimmy Dean Sones, 82, went to his heavenly home October 2, 2017. He was born February 9, 1935, in Harbin, Texas, to Clara and Henry Sones.
Jimmy graduated from Dublin High School in 1953, where he played all sports. He especially loved and excelled in baseball and played throughout his life in several different leagues, finishing in the De Leon Senior League at age 65.
Jimmy married Fonda Alexander on January 9, 1961, and together they raised four children. He was in Truck Tire Sales and Service for more than forty years, and changed his last tire on an 18 wheeler at age 82. He served in the U.S. Army in 1958 and 1959.
Jimmy loved the Lord, his family, and his church and served each well. He was loved in return and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Fonda; sons, Larry Sones, Tommy Sones and wife, Melissa, and Mike Sones and wife, Karen, daughters, Terri Kemp and husband, Scott, and Sheri McDonald and husband, B.J; grandchildren, Jeff Sones, Brandon McDonald and wife, Meghann, Whitney Barefoot and husband, Mitch, Tyler Kemp and fiancé, Whitney Smith, Garret Kemp and fiancé, Amanda Locke, Kailey Sones and Mitch Winkles, Darcy Sones, John Grisham, Tony Stone, Matthew Sones, Bethany Sones, David Moore and wife, Charity; great-grandchildren, Dylan Sones, Aubrey Barefoot, Jacob Maddy and Lila Moore, and Ally, Wes, and Jase McDonald.
Jimmy was preceded by his parents, Clara and Henry Sones; and brothers, Jack Sones and Robert Sones.
A celebration of life was held Saturday, October 7, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at Nowlin Anders Funeral Home with Brother Ben Hokanson and Brother Jackie Auvenshine officiating.
