Obituary

Joan Duncan, 92, a lifelong resident of De Leon, passed peacefully from this life at her home on April 23, 2024. She was born March 11, 1932, in Hamlin, Texas to Harold Frank and Grace Jewel Scott Frank. Joan married her husband Jimmy Duncan on August 6, 1950. He preceded her in death in 1988.

Joan worked as a registered nurse for years at the De Leon Hospital and the Osteopathic Hospital in Ft. Worth. She loved caring for her patients and enjoyed being able to help people. Joan enjoyed browsing and shopping at thrift stores and loved to sew. She handmade many treasured pieces for her family over the years. Joan was a cheerful soul and shared her love of the Lord with others. Her home church was De Leon First Baptist Church.  She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be missed deeply by all who knew and loved her.

She was survived by her daughters, Misty Duncan, Tracy Riggs and husband, Rocky, Kelly Williams and husband, Wesley; grandchildren, Russell Jeanis, Adrienne Jeanis, Callie Ahuja, Rajan Ahuja, Mica Tomlinson, Chris Tomlinson, Colton Williams, Rene Williams, Jaci Pippin, and Cory Pippin; great-grandchildren, Liam Tomlinson, Ben Tomlinson, Avi Ahuja, Campbell Jeanis, Holland Jeanis, Carston Williams, Baker Pippin and Beckham Pippin; brother, Jimmy Frank and wife, Linda; two very dear friends, Mildred Barker and Rae Jean Hasty; numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family. Joan was preceded by her husband, Jimmy Duncan; parents, Harold and Jewel Frank; sister, Jean Alley; brother, Harold Lynn Frank; and special friend, Fred Schnur.

Graveside services were held Saturday, May 25, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in De Leon Cemetery with Ron Kellam officiating.
