Obituary

Johnny Mack Weaver, 68, left his earthly home and met his Lord and Savior January 25, 2022. He was born October 22, 1953, in Ft. Worth, Texas to John Mack and Ann (Bush) Weaver. He married Sherry Hamrick on March 20, 1976, in De Leon and had a loving marriage of forty-five years and was blessed with two daughters which he was very proud of.

Johnny graduated from De Leon High School class of 1972. He then attended Central Texas College in Killeen. He worked at Caporal Forging for twenty-nine years until the company closed in 2009. He then worked for FMC, Inc. for five years until his retirement in 2015.

He loved everything outdoors, bow and rifle hunting, fishing, golfing, baseball, and slow pitch softball, to name a few. In his younger years, he loved the lake, and could be seen waterskiing barefoot. He enjoyed playing 42 and a variety of card games, was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan, and was a mastermind at useless trivia. He loved to cook and often treated his family with exotic cuisine and would prepare meals for the hunter's campsite.

Johnny is survived by his wife, Sherry Weaver of De Leon; two daughters, Jennifer Weaver of De Leon and Ashley Weaver of Abilene; two grandchildren, Tayci Weaver and Emory Weaver of De Leon; three brothers, Scott Weaver of Burkburnett, Rusty Weaver and wife, Cecelia, of Gustine; and Jeffrey Weaver and wife, Lisa, of Dublin; stepmother, Geneva Weaver of De Leon; numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family. He is preceded in death by his parents, John Mack and Ann Weaver; and brother, Jerry Tom Weaver.

Graveside funeral services celebrating Johnny's life were held Thursday, January 27, 2022, at 2 p.m. in De Leon Cemetery with Brother Kenneth Wilson officiating. Honorary pallbearers were Joey Weaver, Justin Southall, Brent Bush, Chuck Bush, Michael Calvert and Steve Buchanan.
