Juanita C. Rudloff, of De Leon, passed from this life Sunday, April 26, 2015, at the age of 97 years, 8 months, and 26 days.
She was born July 5, 1917, in Gustine, Texas, to John and Lottie Pierce.
Juanita lived in the De Leon and Rucker communities for over 76 years. She resided at De Leon Nursing Home for the last 5 years of her life. She was a loving and dedicated homemaker who always supported her family and encouraged her children to be involved with music, sporting activities, and educational endeavors. Juanita was active with their family farming business with her first husband, Travis Bunting. For much of her life, she was involved in the Veterans of Foreign Wars cause. Juanita later married her husband of 34 years, John Rudloff, and they were very active in the De Leon community.
Juanita was a talented cook and gardener. She was a wonderful seamstress and enjoyed crocheting, tatting and embroidering. Over the years, she made hundreds of afghans and often gave them to her family and friends. She had a lively sense of humor, and a warm and adventurous spirit. She will be missed in this life, but we know we will meet her again in Heaven.
She is survived by her daughter, Jeanette Bunting Cunningham of Waco; son, Rocky Bunting and wife, Martha, of De Leon; daughter-in-law, Sara Bunting of De Leon; step-daughter, Margaret Stockman; brother, Waylon Pierce and wife, Melba; sister, Wanda Tate; sister-in-law, Julia Faye Rudloff; nine grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and other extended family.
Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, John Rudloff; son, Larry Bunting; step-sons, Connie Lynn Rudloff and Jimmie Rudloff; grandson, James Cunningham; brothers, W.L. and Weldon Pierce; sisters, Jewell Seal, Lois Crouch and Verda Mae Montgomery.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at 11:00 a.m., at Nowlin Anders Funeral Home with Brother Brad Bunting officiating. Graveside services followed in De Leon Cemetery.
