Judy West, 70, of De Leon, went home to her Lord and Savior Tuesday, November 14, 2017. She was born July 2, 1947, in Austin, Texas to Elmer Hyden, Jr. and Zetty Mitchell Hyden. Judy married John Willis West, Jr. January 20, 1967, in Georgetown, Texas.

John and Judy moved to De Leon in 2003 from Liberty Hill. They were members of Fair Haven Baptist Church and also attended De Leon Assembly of God Church. Judy was employed as a cafeteria cook for both De Leon Head Start and Comanche Head Start for many years. She loved spending time outdoors fishing and camping. She was a devoted wife and mother and loved her family dearly.

Judy is survived by her son, John Willis West, III; sisters, Wanda Parker and Wendy Swindle; numerous nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and other extended family. She was preceded by her husband of fifty years, John Willis West, Jr.; parents, Elmer and Zetty Hyden; and three siblings.

A celebration of life was held Saturday, November 18, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at Nowlin Anders Funeral Home with Brother Kenneth Wilson and Buddy Hyden officiating.
