Karen Lynn Boyd Smith, 82, passed peacefully from this life July 6, 2026, in Waco, Texas. She was born March 4, 1944, in De Leon, Texas to Arcue T. Boyd and Dorothy L. Hawkins Boyd. Karen was raised in Fort Worth, Texas and graduated from high school there.

At the age of 18, she married Raymond L. Smith, Sr. on April 26, 1962, in Fairbanks, Alaska. As a military spouse for over a decade, she supported Ray’s US Army military career. She found joy in poetry and music and many hobbies including: crafting, cooking, fishing, camping, gardening but loved most of all horseback riding. Karen had a special love for all animals, especially her beloved companion, Dandy.

Her family was the center of her world, and she was happiest when surrounded by those she loved. Karen was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and cherished friend to many.
