Kathryn Ann
Hugg
Oct 25, 1947 — Jan 28, 2026
Kathryn Hugg, 78, passed peacefully from this life on January 28, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 25, 1947, in De Leon, Texas, to Tomas L. Morgan and Pauline Beck Morgan.
Kathryn graduated from De Leon High School, Class of 1966. She later moved to Fort Worth, where she met her husband, William Hugg. Together they welcomed two children before returning to De Leon, which they proudly called home.
Kathryn found joy in the simple things in life. She loved sitting out in the sun and had a soft heart for animals, especially the many cats she fostered that happened across her lawn.
Throughout the years, Kathryn held many jobs, including several years at the De Leon Clinic, where she formed lifelong friendships that she treasured dearly. Her favorite role, however, was being a Nana. She was blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom cherished her deeply and would argue that she was the best nana in the world.
Kathryn is survived by her son, Brandon Hugg; grandchildren, Taylor Riffe and wife, Kristen, Haylee Barnett and husband, Donivine, Ireland Cleere and husband, Brent, Liberty Hugg, and Hayden and Grayson Shields. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Paisley, Ellie, Britten, Brooks, Hayes, and Billie; her niece, Kristen Morgan; and other extended family.
Kathryn is preceded in death by her husband, William; her parents, Tomas and Pauline; her brother, Charles Morgan, and his wife, Joan; and her daughter, Jennifer Shields.
Kathryn "Nana" will be remembered for her warmth, humor, and compassion. She will be deeply missed, and her memory will live on in the love she gave so freely and in the lives of those who were blessed to know her.
The Hugg family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday, February 15, 2026, from 2-3:00 p.m. at Nowlin Anders Funeral Home. Graveside services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. in De Leon Cemetery with Minister Lowell Ercanbrack officiating.
