Larry Mitchel Dupriest was born April 27, 1948, to Alford Dupriest and Dora Keith. He passed away Sunday, September 12, 2021, at 73 years old.

He is survived by his mother, Dora Keith Dupriest; wife, Gale Dupriest; daughter, Dana Rodriquez; four grandchildren, Aiden, Maggie, Micah and Millie Rodriquez; brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Shirley Dupriest, and their son, Daniel.

Larry led a remarkable life, living in the Middle East and helping to design and operate some of the world's largest plant facilities. He was a natural teacher and set a standard of integrity his coworkers from every culture respected. To many, he was the face of our country. He loved adventure and traveled the world with his family, from exploring the Saudi deserts with a GPS, to snorkeling the Red Sea, to safaris in Kenya. And he saw the people he met along the way as the best adventure of all.

Cancer challenged his last years on this earth, but he managed to put up a good fight. He was hard working and took great pride in providing for his family. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, and son.

Funeral services celebrating Larry's life were held Thursday, September 16, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Nowlin Anders Funeral Home in De Leon, with Brother Burt Atkins officiating. Larry was laid to rest in De Leon Cemetery.
