Laura Maxine Robertson, 90, went to meet her Lord on Wednesday, July 6, 2016, after a brief illness. She was the daughter of James Hiram Womack and Jessie Dee Womack of De Leon, Texas. Maxine was born at Fitzgerald's Nursery in Erath County where she grew up among a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. Later the family moved to De Leon where they established Womack Nursery.
Maxine married William Milton Robertson of Comanche in September 1949 and settled in Ft. Worth, Texas. They had 4 daughters (Kaye, Carolyn, Sonya & Sondra). While raising her children, she served as the president of the PTA at South Hills Elementary and a troop leader for the Camp Fire Girls. Maxine was a very talented seamstress, making everything her children wore as well as sewing for close friends and neighbors. She and her late husband loved to travel and took the family camping every summer all over the United States. After the girls were grown they continued traveling the U.S. as well as Canada and Nova Scotia. Their favorite places were the light houses on both coast lines, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Branson, Missouri.
After the death of her husband, Maxine moved from Ft. Worth to The Whitestone in Comanche, Texas. She lived there 7 years and made many wonderful friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and sister, Marilyn Burleson.
