Laverne (Boone) Pino, 85, of Lake Proctor, went home to meet her Lord and Savior April 24, 2020. She was born September 30, 1934, in Jacksboro, Texas to James A. Boone and Lena Frie Boone. Laverne married her devoted husband of fifty years, Dr. Alfonso Pino, on July 2, 1970, in Oklahoma.
Laverne was a long-time member of De Leon First Baptist Church. She loved her church family and the years she was able to worship with them. Laverne retired after many years serving as a medical assistant. She and Dr. Pino have lived in Comanche County for fifty years. She had a witty sense of humor and enjoyed making others laugh. She was a talented seamstress and loved needle pointing. Laverne's family was her greatest joy in life. She was a loving wife, devoted mother and grandmother, loyal sister and friend to so many. She will be missed beyond measure by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Pino; children, Sue Emory and husband, Jay; Ricky Parker and wife, Debbie, Bryan Parker and wife, Karla; Mimi Oakley and husband, Roger, Alfie Pino and wife, Kim, and daughter-in-law, Mary Jane Pino; grandchildren, Angie Kilgore, Jason Emory, Corey Parker, Josh Parker, Jamie Parker, Krissy Gryseels, Thomas Parker, Cody Parker, Bryan Parker, Brynea Delph, Liz Jones, Whitney Landon, Jonathan Pino, M.D., Annaliese Murray, David Pino, Daniel Pino, M.D., Valeri Scrogham, Veronica Harvey, Jennifer Bolton, Jeremy Harvey, Chris Harvey, Josh Oakley, Jordan Oakley, Cameron Pino, Caroline Pino, Claire Pino and Clarke Pino; forty-seven great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; sisters, Leta Ryman and Lela Osborne; numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family. Laverne has been reunited with her parents, James and Lena Boone; son, James Parker; infant daughter, Laverne Pino; and son, Willy Pino.
Graveside funeral services celebrating Laverne's life were held Tuesday, April 28, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. in Gorman Oaklawn Cemetery with Brother Daniel Harper officiating. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Guyle Donham, Benny Boen and Harvey Harper.

*Due to the current COVID-19 regulations on group gatherings, we kindly ask that any friends planning to attend Lavernes's graveside service respectfully stand at least 30 feet from the tent. Also, please do not gather in groups larger than 10 people (at the advised 6 foot distance). The tent seating will be reserved for immediate family only. We are saddened that we cannot currently allow friends to pay their respects to the Pino family with a traditional visitation and ceremony. The family appreciates your understanding of the graveside safety regulations and is thankful for your continued prayers and kind thoughts during this difficult time.
