Leonard Winfred Holland, 87, passed away Thursday, March 30, 2017, in Granbury. He was born in Comyn, Texas February 6, 1930 to L.P. and Alice Holland.
Leonard graduated from Comyn High School in 1947. He attended John Tarleton College for two years and then graduated from Texas Tech University in 1952. While in college, on September 1, 1950, he married the love of his life and best friend, Doris E. Scott. Leonard spent two years in the Military and after serving his country, he began a very successful career in the oil business as an auditor.
Throughout their careers, Leonard and Doris relocated several times to various cities in Oklahoma and Texas. Upon their retirement, they moved to Granbury where they enjoyed family, friends and occasional golf games.
Leonard is survived by his wife, Doris, of Granbury; four sisters-in-law; eight nieces and nephews; eight great nieces and nephews; and seven great-great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws, Hogan and Vera Scott; brother, Carlton; three brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law; and three nephews.
Graveside funeral services were held Saturday, April 1, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Comanche, with Pastor Rich Lows officiating.
