Lester Arno Housinger, age 101, of Round Rock, Texas, went home to his Lord and Savior Friday, September 16, 2016. He was born in Sylvia, Kansas July 10, 1915, to Arno Charles Housinger and Hattie Barnes Housinger.
Lester lived in Georgetown and Round Rock, Texas most of his life. He was employed by the United States government in the USDA, APHIS, and REAC departments as an investigator from 1966 until he retired in 1995. Prior to his career with the government, Lester worked as a border patrolman from 1941 to 1950; and farming operations manager in Fabens, Pecos, Ft. Stockton and Van Horn, Texas areas from 1950 to 1963.
Lester proudly served in the United States Army during WWII. He was a long time member of Crestview Baptist Church in Georgetown where he taught Sunday school to twelve year olds and also taught a senior adult class. Lester was a devoted and loving family man and friend and will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
He is survived by his daughter, Leslie Jane Skinner; step-daughter, Nancy Bell Willman; daughter-in-law, Camilla Housinger; and numerous grandchildren. Lester was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Sharp Housinger; son, Arno Charles Housinger; parents, Arno and Hattie Housinger; two brothers; and two sisters.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 20, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at Nowlin Anders Funeral Home in De Leon, Texas, with Brother Jackie Auvenshine officiating. Graveside services followed in De Leon Cemetery.
