Obituary

Lorenzo Navarro, 73, of De Leon, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2020, in Ft. Worth. He was born September 8, 1946, in Yancey, Texas, to Francisco Navarro and Maximina Benetes Navarro. He was married to his loving wife, Erlinda Navarro, who passed away in 2014.

Lorenzo was a long time member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. He was employed for many years as a custodian for Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio and later worked for the City of Hondo. He absolutely loved the Dallas Cowboys and was a faithful fan always. He also enjoyed watching the Houston Astros and the Texas Rangers play baseball. He loved coaching youth baseball and listening to Tejano music. Lorenzo was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his sons, Lorenzo Navarro, Jr., and Augustine Navarro; daughters, Mary Ann Villareal and husband, Victor Sr., Rachel Navarro, and Cynthia Holguin and husband, Martin, Sr.; brothers, Cruz Navarro and wife, JoAnn and Angel Navarro; sister, Juana Navarro; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family. Lorenzo was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Francisco Navarro and Joe Navarro.

Funeral services were held Friday, March 6, 2020, at 12:00 p.m. at Nowlin Anders Funeral Home.  Graveside services followed in De Leon Cemetery.
