Louis Alvin Stewart, 61, of De Leon, went home to his Lord and Savior Tuesday, February 4, 2014. He was born January 19, 1953, in Georgetown, Texas, to Louis Morghin Stewart and Bonnie Jean
Grumbles. He married Corlis Horton July 29, 1980, in Stephenville.
Alvin was a member of De Leon Church of Christ, Hwy 6. He and Corlis owned and operated La Tex Associates in De Leon for many years. Alvin enjoyed hunting, riding four wheelers, fishing and being outdoors. He was always his happiest when he could spend time outside with his family and friends. He loved his family dearly and was especially proud of his grandchildren.
Alvin is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Corlis Stewart; son, Clint Stewart and wife, Margurite; daughter, Amber Draeger and husband, Josh; grandchildren, Brandon Stewart, Conner Stewart, Megan Miller and Logan Draeger; sisters, LaRue Cogburn and Dorthey Frazier; numerous nieces and nephews; and other extended family.
Alvin was preceded by his parents, Louis and Bonnie Stewart.
Funeral services were held Friday, February 7, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at De Leon Church of Christ, Hwy 6. Graveside services followed in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Comanche County. Pastor Charlie Grossman officiated the services.
Serving as pallbearers were Phil Alexander, Trip Pearson, Max Thomas, Don Thomas, David Gardner, Ricky Wilson, Randy Shadden and Eddie Leatherwood. Honorary pallbearers were Reid Hansen, Mike Weiss, Calvin Dodd, Wade Randolph, Rodney Rogers, David Menzel, Terry Wooten and F. H. Tucker.
