Manuel Montez Reyna, 70, peacefully passed away February 20, 2021, in Whitney, Texas. He was born March 15, 1950, in Mason, Texas to Guadalupe B. Reyna and Amelia Montez Reyna. Manual married Sarita (Sara) Concepción Rubio July 5, 1969, in Dublin, Texas. Sara passed away September 20, 2019.
Manuel and Sara were longtime members of Our Lady Guadalupe Catholic Church of De Leon. Manual was employed for many years with Belco and Golden Peanut as an equipment operator, eventually retiring from Golden Peanut. Manuel enjoyed many hobbies in life including fishing, collecting various items such as knives and tools, gardening, watching wildlife and spending time outdoors. He loved his family and was always his happiest while with them. He was a loving and devoted husband to Sara, an attentive father to his three sons, a caring grandfather and brother, and loyal friend to many. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his sons, Ruben M. Reyna and wife, Wendy, of De Leon, Rudy M. Reyna and wife, Amy, of Whitney, and Crispin M. Reyna of Katy; beloved grandchildren, Kaleb, Joshua, Madison and Ofelia; brothers, Joe Reyna and wife, Lila, Johnny Reyna and wife, Maria, Tony Reyna, Chris Reyna and wife, Sylvia, and Steve Reyna and wife, Mary; sisters, Gloria Garcia, Donna Arreola and husband, Vince, Janie Perez, and Mary Juarez and husband, Jose; numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
Manual has been reunited with his wife, Sara; parents, Guadalupe and Amelia Reyna; one brother, Guadalupe Reyna, Jr.; parents-in-law, Crispin and Librada Rubio; sister-in-law, Janie Garcia; and brother-in- law, Hogan Garcia.
Funeral services celebrating Manuel's life were held Sunday, February 28, 2021, at 1:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in De Leon. Manuel was laid to rest in De Leon Cemetery beside Sara. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, in memory of Manuel.
