Obituary

Margaret Faye Holdridge McGehee, 87, of De Leon, went home to her Lord and Savior Saturday, August 18, 2018, with her loving family by her side. She was born September 22, 1930 in De Leon, the one and only child of Curtis Lee Holdridge and Ethel Young Vaughn Holdridge. She was especially close to her parents throughout their lives together. Margaret was married to her devoted husband, Woody Andrew McGehee for forty-one years.

Margaret was a long-time faithful member of the Assembly of God Church in De Leon. She deeply loved her Lord, church and church family. Margaret was a church staple behind the piano and taught private lessons for many decades. She was incredibly gifted musically. Other than her recent move to live near her son and his family in Waxahachie, and from the early 1960's to the late 1980's when she and Woody Andrew lived in Odessa, Margaret had lived most of her life in the De Leon community. While living in Odessa, she taught private piano lessons from home. Once they were back home in De Leon, Margaret worked for the De Leon Nursing Home. Margaret enjoyed genealogy and history. Her greatest joy in life was her only son, Woody Lee, and his family. She was a wonderful wife, loving mother, doting grandmother, and loving friend. Above all else, she was a faithful servant to her Lord. She was diligent in studying God's word daily and would always tell her son "If you want to know the answer to something in life, read the Bible".

She is survived by her pride and joy – her son, Woody Lee McGehee and his wife, Stephanie; their children, Dalton McGehee and wife, Ariel, Brady Gonzales, and Allison McGehee; numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Woody Andrew McGehee; and her parents, Curtis and Ethel Holdridge and is now eternally reunited with them in Heaven.

Funeral services were held Thursday, August 23, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Assembly of God Church, De Leon.  Graveside services followed in De Leon Cemetery.
