Maria Garcia, 86, of De Leon, passed away February 13, 2019. She was born October 15, 1932, in Mathis, Texas to Arturo Garcia and Isabel Garza Garcia. Maria married Domingo Garcia, Sr.

Maria and Domingo lived in De Leon since 1966. She was a devoted and loving homemaker for her family. She loved gardening, being outside and cooking for her large family. Her family was the center of her life and she was her happiest while spending time with them.

She is survived by her sons, Joe Garcia and wife, Tina, Ricky Garcia and wife, Barbara; Johnny Garcia and wife, Melissa; daughters, Daisy Cooper and husband, James, Sylvia Alvarez and Elizabeth Garcia; grandchildren, Racheal, Rebecca, Joanna, Melinda, Lisa, Christina, Michael, AD, Eric, Daniel, Monica, Michelle, Erik, Ronson, Shaun, Hailey, Samantha, Kristia, Wylie, George, Khrystal, Cynthia, Valerie, Nellie, Isaac and Alexis; 58 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

Maria was preceded in death by her husband, Domingo Garcia, Sr.; parents, Arturo and Isabel Garcia; children, Hogan Garcia, Domingo Garcia, Jr., Gilbert Garcia and Adela Garcia; grandson, Jonathan Garcia; great-grandchildren, Jordan Cornell Bob; and son-in-law, Eduardo Alvarez.

Funeral services were held Saturday, February 16, 2019, at 1 p.m. at Nowlin Anders Funeral Home with Minister Joel Solorzano officiating. Graveside services followed in De Leon Cemetery.
