Obituary

Marjorie L. Boyd, 78, of Comanche, passed away April 13, 2018, in Abilene. She was born October 6, 1939, in Vidor, Texas to Eugene Victor King and Odelia Rougeaux King. Majorie married her loving husband of 61 years, Lawrence Levon Boyd, August 17, 1958, in Norman, Oklahoma.

Marjorie was raised in De Leon and lived there until she married Lawrence. His service in the United States Navy and the United States Air Force carried their growing family all over the country and to Okinawa, Japan for several years. Marjorie served as a guidance counselor for many military members helping them to prepare for and obtain their GED. Marjorie was a devoted homemaker for her family. She loved being a wife and mother. She enjoyed many hobbies including raising Pomeranian dogs, crafting with ceramics, gardening and spending time outdoors. Marjorie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Lawrence Boyd; sons, Timothy Boyd and wife, Sherry, and Thomas Boyd and wife, DeAnna; daughters, Tami Chadwell and husband, Walter; and Tina Hinman and husband, Chris; thirteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and other extended family.

Marjorie has been reunited with her parents, Eugene and Odelia King; sisters, Thelma Kyle and Leona Dickey; and brothers, Edmond Victor King, A.C. Grimes and Billy Ray Grimes.

Funeral services celebrating Marjorie's life were held Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. at Nowlin Anders Funeral Home with Brother Ray Seckinger officiating. Graveside services followed in Downing Cemetery.

If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children at 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607, in memory of Marjorie.
