Martha Lee Gregory Gilder, 82, went home to her Lord and Savior Sunday, June 29, 2014, with her family by her side.
She was born January 20, 1932, in Valley View, Texas, to William Issac Gregory and Frances Jewel Stinnett Gregory. She married Raymond Lee Gilder January 28, 1957 in Weatherford, Texas.
Martha was a member of St. Joe Baptist Church in De Leon. She and Raymond moved to De Leon in 1984, having previously lived in Lubbock for over 40 years. Martha was a devoted and loving homemaker for her family. She loved to shop. She enjoyed fishing, cooking, gardening and planting flowers. Martha loved her family very much. She was especially proud of her grandchildren and loved spending time with them. She will be dearly missed by many.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Raymond Lee Gilder; daughter, Lou Ann Millsap and husband, Curtis; son, Greg Gilder; grandchildren, Joshua Raymond Gilder, Lauren Gilder, Colton Millsap, and Stephanie Millsap; 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Linda Box; brothers, James Gregory and Gerald Gregory and wife, Dorothy; numerous nieces and nephews; and other extended family.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents, William and Frances Gregory; and sisters, Genevieve Gilder and Emily Gregory.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joe Baptist Church with Brother Jackie Auvenshine officiating. Music was provided by Rocky and Martha Bunting. Graveside services followed in Oliver Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers were Joshua Gilder, Colton Millsap, Ronald Ray, David Gilder, Terry Gilder and Curtis Millsap. Honorary pallbearers were Tommy Frost, Max Keith, Bennett Cook and Clint Cook.
