Obituary

Martin L. Stepan, 82, of De Leon, went home to his Lord and Savior Wednesday, November 29, 2017, with his family by his side.

He was born January 25, 1935, in Temple, Texas, to Martin Gilbert Stepan and Adaline Mollie Baca Stepan. Martin married his loving wife of sixty years, Dorothy Wall, June 15, 1957, in Grand Prairie, Texas.

Martin was a long-time member of De Leon First Baptist Church and the Loyalty Sunday School Class. Martin retired from Quality Fence after twenty-five years of working as a foreman in Dallas County. He served for many years as a Boy Scout leader and was very active in his sons activities when they were younger. He loved hunting, spending time outdoors, and traveling. He was an extremely talented carpenter and built many beautiful pieces for his family over the years. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy Stepan; sons, Leslie W. Stepan; Ray Stepan and wife, Tina, John M. Stepan and wife, Lisa; grandchildren, Jake C. Stepan and wife, Vanessa, Julie E. DeBaun and husband, Chase, Callie N. Silas and husband, Lance, Christine M. Batson; step-grandchildren, Anda Upchurch, Taylor Mainz, Hanna Mainz, Preston Mainz; great-grandchildren, Addison Silas, Piper Silas, Emma DeBaun and John DeBaun; brothers, Wayne Stepan and wife, Pat, Kenneth Stepan and wife, Tobie, sisters, Sharon Moore and husband, Doug, Linda Villars and husband, Bill; numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family. Martin was preceded in death by his parents Martin and Adaline Stepan.

Funeral services were held Saturday, December 2, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. at De Leon First Baptist Church with Brother Daniel Harper officiating. Graveside services followed in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Erath County.
