Mary Lee (Smith) Waller, 96, a lifelong resident of Desdemona, peacefully passed from this life Friday, June 9, 2023, in Stephenville. Mary was born September 24, 1926, in Gorman, Texas to Robert Craig Smith and Pearl Rodgers Smith. Mary married Troy Allen Waller August 16, 1947.

Mary retired from banking where she was a teller for many decades. She was a longtime member of Green's Creek Methodist Church in Dublin. Mary was gifted with many talents of which painting and quilting were her favorites. She painted and quilted many treasured keepsakes for her family and friends throughout the years. She also loved gardening and working jigsaw puzzles. She was a devoted wife to Troy, a loving daughter, sister, and aunt, and a very special friend to many. She will be missed beyond measure. Mary is survived by her nephew, Tim Smith; and numerous great nieces and great nephews. She has been reunited with her husband, Troy; her parents; and her eleven siblings.

Graveside funeral services were held Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Comanche, with Rocky Hardin officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Kevin Lewis, Klint Lewis, M.J. Stewart, Monty Stewart, Mike Stewart, and Tim Smith.
