Obituary

Michael P. Flora, 75, of De Leon, passed peacefully January 31, 2021, at his home. He was born June 27, 1945, in Strawn, Texas to Raymond and Louise Flora. He married his loving wife of forty-six years, Linda Hardin, September 14, 1974.

Michael proudly served in the United States Coast Guard during the Vietnam War Era. Michael and Linda are members of Assembly of God Church, De Leon. He was a skilled electrician and was employed for decades for Lockheed Martin. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers since age twenty-two. Michael also had a pest control license and worked in that field for many years. Michael loved to work. Even in his off time, he found something to work on. He was a loving husband to Linda, a caring father and grandfather, and a loyal friend to many. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; son, Ray Flora; daughter, Julie Ann Miner; grandchildren, Courtney, Payton and Savannah; brother, Billy Flora and wife, Terry; numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family. Michael was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Jerry Flora.

Graveside funeral services were held Thursday, February 4, 2021, at 2:30 p.m. in Oliver Springs Cemetery with Pastor Randy Munter officiating. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Oliver Springs Cemetery in memory of Michael.

Due to the current Comanche County COVID-19 regulations on group gatherings, we kindly ask that any friends planning to attend Michael's graveside service respectfully stand at least 20 feet from the tent. The tent seating will be reserved for immediate family only. We are saddened that we cannot currently allow friends to pay their respects to the Flora family with a traditional visitation and ceremony. The family appreciates your understanding of the graveside safety regulations and is thankful for your continued prayers and kind thoughts during this difficult time. Masks are required in large gatherings.
