Michael Eugene Hasty, 64, of Comanche, passed away December 18, 2013 in Temple, Texas.
He was born June 12, 1949 to Robert and Thelma Chambliss Hasty. He married Paula Ashwell August 16, 1970.
Michael was a veteran of the United States Army. He had selflessly served in the Vietnam War. After returning from war, he worked as a welder in the off shore oil industry.
Michael or "One Eyed Mike" or "Uncle Mike" as many lovingly called him, loved to camp and fish. He had the unique skill of shooting a slingshot and he could even fish using a slingshot.
He is survived by his wife, Paula; daughter and son in law, Melissa Hasty and Dan Bryant; daughter, Jennifer Hasty; son, Jason Hasty; brother, Fred Hasty; sister, JoAnn Hasty McKinney; grandchildren, Tessa Sellers, Ashley McCombs, Michael Baker, and Saria Hasty-Fuller; nephews, Tyler McKinney, Brandon Shelton and Robbie Shelton; and other extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside funeral services were held Saturday, December 28, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. in De Leon Cemetery with Brother Kenneth Wilson officiating.
