Michael Glenn
Richardson
Oct 13, 1954 — Apr 15, 2020
Michael Glenn Richardson, 65, of De Leon, peacefully passed away April 15, 2020, at De Leon Nursing and rehab with his family by his side. He was born October 13, 1954, in Odessa, Texas to J.D. and Jessie (Wright) Richardson. Michael married the love of his life of forty-eight years, Mildred Lingle, on May 27, 1972 in De Leon.
Michael was raised in Odessa and Kermit, Texas and moved to De Leon in 1968. He was employed with Wofford's of De Leon as an auto mechanic, and St-Gobain Abrasives in Stephenville as a forklift driver. He enjoyed many hobbies throughout his life, but his favorite would have been the ten years he coached the Crown Pump little league baseball team. He loved collecting coins, sports trading cards and other sporting memorabilia. Michael loved watching the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers and the Baylor Bears. His greatest joy in life was his family. His loving wife, daughter, son, grandchildren, and great- granddaughter were the center of his life. Michael was a Baptist and had complete faith in God throughout the progression of his illness. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Michael is survived by his wife, Millie; son, Michael John Richardson and wife, Karen; daughter, Brenda Lee Allen; father, J.D. Richardson; brothers, Don Richardson and wife, Darla, and Eugene Richardson; sister, Patti Johnson and husband, Johnny; grandchildren, Jaycee Cronk and Noe Chavez, Jacoby Mathis, Shawn Richardson, Lena Dove, Jada Dove, and Dylan Dove; and great-granddaughter Olivia Dianne Chavez; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family. Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Jessie Lee Wright Richardson; mother-in-law, Dovie Lee Fair; and brother-in-law, Andy Lingle.
Graveside funeral services celebrating Michael's life were held Saturday, April 18, 2020, at 3:00 p.m. in De Leon Cemetery with Brother Kenneth Wilson officiating. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the De Leon Sports Association, in memory of Michael. Condolences may be offered online at www.nowlinandersfh.com .
Due to the current COVID-19 regulations on group gatherings, we kindly ask that any friends planning to attend Michael's graveside service respectfully stand at least 30 feet from the tent. Also, please do not gather in groups larger than 10 people (at the advised 6 foot distance). The tent seating will be reserved for immediate family only. We are saddened that we cannot currently allow friends to pay their respects to the Richardson family with a traditional visitation and ceremony. The family appreciates your understanding of the graveside safety regulations and is thankful for your continued prayers and kind thoughts during this difficult time.
