Morgan Gene Davenport, 61, of De Leon, passed away Saturday, September 21, 2013.
He was born February 2, 1952 in Seguin, Texas to Morgan Nash Davenport and Maudie Springs Davenport. He married Susan Phillips May 15, 1982 in Canyonville, Oregon.
Morgan was a Baptist. He was a true cowboy through and through. He loved the rodeo life. He was passionate about riding horses, bronc riding and bucking bulls. He also enjoyed horse racing.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Susan Davenport; son, Sean Davenport; daughters, Shannon Hamilton, Dana Collins, Sable Carpenter, Sabrina Gillentine and Crystal Daniel; sisters, Peggy Busch, Beth White, and Mary Glover; 15 grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and other extended family.
Morgan has gone home to join his parents; son, Burnie Davenport; brother, Charlie Davenport; and son-in-law, Nathan Carpenter.
Graveside services were held Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in De Leon Cemetery. Don McGee officiated the services.
