Myrtie Montague, 86, of De Leon, went home to her Lord and Savior January 25, 2017.

She was born March 5, 1930, in Comyn, Texas to Jason J. Montague and Idell Watson Montague.

Myrtie graduated from Comyn High School and went to work for Weaver Drug Company. She was a fixture at Weaver Drug for almost fifty years. She enjoyed sewing and many people went to her for clothing alterations for many years. Myrtie had a friendly and loving disposition and never met a stranger. She loved to sit and visit with her many friends. She was a long-time member of Comyn Baptist Church.

She will be dearly missed by her family and many loving friends.
She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, extended family, and many loving friends. Myrtie was preceded in death by her parents, Jason and Idell Montague; brothers, J.J. Montague, Paul Montague and Lloyd Montague; sisters, Dorothy Montague; Ruby Lee Montague and Annie Barker.

Graveside funeral services were held Saturday, January 28, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. in Comyn Cemetery with Brother Ray Seckinger officiating. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Comyn Baptist Church, in memory of Myrtie.
