Nelda Ruth Perry went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, May 3rd, 2017 after a long struggle with Dementia.
Nelda "Ruth" Crowder Perry was born on December 25th, 1932 in Winters, Texas to Mary Etta and Victor Garrett Crowder. Nelda was the third of seven children for the couple. Ruth was raised in De Leon, Texas with her five sisters and older brother.
Mrs. Perry's life was a simple one. She enjoyed time with her husband, children and grandchildren. She loved the Lord and raised her children to do the same. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, spending time with friends and extended family.
Ruth Perry was preceded in death by her mother (Mary Etta Williams Crowder), father (Victor Garrett Crowder), sister (Etta Mae Lammons) brother (V.G. Crowder) and beloved husband of 53 years (Gus Perry).
She is survived by her four sisters: Rosa Gooden, Betty Lasater, Ann Gaines and Edna Thompson, her four children: daughter Nelda McMillan and spouse Mac McMillan of Terrell, Texas, her son William Perry and his wife Brenda Perry of Kilgore, Texas, her daughter Judy Buffington and spouse David Buffington of Paradise, Texas and daughter Becky King and spouse Rusty King of Austin, Texas. Ruth Perry is also survived by her ten grandchildren: Tracy Barrett, Dennis Sanders, Angela Smith, Shane Perry, Crystal Hidrogo, Miranda Rockett, Brandon Buffington, Brittany Buffington, Lyndsey King and Logan King. She is also survived by thirteen, great-grand children and two great-great grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services were held Friday, May 12, 2017, at 3:30 p.m. in De Leon Cemetery.
