Nella Vee Stewart, 93, of Desdemona, went home to her Lord and Savior August 14, 2018. She was born October 7, 1924, in Gorman to Garland and Cordia (Smith) Perry. Nella Vee married her loving husband, A.J. Stewart, December 17, 1943, in De Leon.

Nella Vee lived in the De Leon and Desdemona communities all of her life. She was a member of Oliver Springs Baptist Church most of her younger years and joined First United Methodist Church with A.J. later in life, where her membership remains. She was a devoted and loving homemaker for her family. Outside of the home, she was the bookkeeper for De Leon Irrigation for many years. Nella Vee enjoyed many hobbies of which her family always benefited. She was a talented quilter, embroiderer, gardener and cook. She also played the piano and painted. Her greatest joy in life was her family. She loved caring for them and doting especially on her grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be truly missed by all who loved her.

Surviving Nella Vee are her sons, Mike Stewart and wife, Beverly, and Monty Stewart and wife, Rosa; grandchildren, Christie (Stewart) Beyer and husband, Jason, Clay Stewart and wife, Brittany, Montica (Stewart) Woods and husband, Daniel, M.J. Stewart and wife, Brittany, and Mason Stewart; great-grandchildren, Jacob Beyer, Codi Beyer, Sage Stewart, Bryceton Hoskins, A.J. Stewart, Case Stewart, Blakeney Stewart and Allison Woods; numerous nieces and nephews; and other extended family. Nella Vee was preceded by her husband of sixty-seven years, A.J. Stewart; parents, Garland and Cordia (Smith) Perry; and brother, Yuvonne Perry.

Funeral services celebrating Nella Vee's life were held Saturday, August 18, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at De Leon First United Methodist Church with Pastor John Woodard officiating. Nella Vee was laid to rest beside her husband in Victor Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions can be made to First United Methodist Church, De Leon, in memory of Nella Vee.
