Nina Jean Morris Painter, 81, of De Leon, went home to her Lord and Savior Tuesday, March 24, 2015.
She was born January 1, 1934, in Gorman, to William Monroe and Blanche Morris. Nina married Lonnie Painter December 9, 1961.
Nina was a member of St. Joe Baptist Church and had lived in the De Leon community her entire life. After graduating from high school, she attended beauty school and always enjoyed fixing hair. She was a devoted and loving homemaker for her family. She enjoyed shopping, baking and being out on the family farm. She loved to be outdoors and often worked the farm beside her husband and son. She was especially close to her grandchildren and loved spending time with her family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her son, Bill Painter; grandchildren, Haley and Hayden Painter; brother, Charlie Morris and wife, Betty; sister-in-law, Lugene Morris; numerous nieces and nephews; and other extended family.
Nina was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Painter; father, William Monroe Morris; mother, Blanche Thornton Morris; brothers, James "Bug" Morris and Neal Morris; twin sisters, Nita D. and Lita B. Morris; and parents-in-law, William V. Painter, Pauline Painter and Vera Painter.
Funeral services were held Friday, March 27, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at Nowlin Anders Funeral Home with Brother Daniel Burlison and Pastor Ronnie Horton officiating. Graveside services followed in De Leon Cemetery.
