Obituary

Ola Juanita Fox Vaughan, 94, went home to be with her Lord Jesus on October 19, 2019. She was born September 8, 1925 in Eastland County to Walter Oral and Ellie May Taylor Fox.  She married Donald Dee Vaughan on July 12, 1946, and they shared an amazing marriage for 56-1/2 years before his passing in November 2002. They raised their three children in Fort Worth.

The two of them moved to De Leon in 1971 to open the Western Auto Store on Texas Street which they owned until 1985. During this time they also opened Gifts 'n More a couple doors down from Western Auto and sold this business and completely retired in 1995.  Soon after moving to De Leon they became active members of First Baptist Church.

After a fall and subsequent surgery in August of 2016, Nita moved to the De Leon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center where she has resided since. Her greatest joys were to go back home for the day and sit in "her" chair and to attend games, school plays and any other event which involved her great grandchildren.  She was their greatest fan!

Nita was always creative, a wonderful cook, talented seamstress and the best mother, grandmother and great grandmother any family could have. She was so proud of her 9 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.  "Grammy" always had more than enough love to go around to her family and anyone else who came across her path.

Nita was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Don, and youngest son, Gary Dean, plus her siblings, Hervey Elmer Fox, Oral Andrew Fox and Ene Fox Whisnant. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law Judy and Skip Ingram; son and daughter-in-law Ken and Ann Vaughan; grandchildren Joy Marin and husband Brian; Jill Green and husband Joey; Nathan Vaughan and wife Felicity; Brandon Vaughan and wife Kim; Amber Lane and husband Shannon; Derek Vaughan and wife Karen; Darren Vaughan and wife Cassie; Toby Vaughan and wife Kayla; and Cory Vaughan and wife Jaci; and numerous great-grandchildren and extended family.

Funeral services were held at First Baptist Church, De Leon at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 26, 2019, with Brother Daniel Harper officiating. Burial followed in De Leon Cemetery beside her husband, Don.  Serving as pallbearers were Nita's grandsons: Nathan, Brandon, Derek, Darren, Toby and Cory Vaughan and great-grandson Colton Smith.  If desired, memorial contributions may be made to De Leon First Baptist Church in honor of Nita.
