Patricia "Pat" Owen, 85, of De Leon, passed from this life January 23, 2025, at her home. She was born September 30, 1939, in Park River, North Dakota to Henry Schfletowski and Louise Dvoleti Schfletowski. Pat married Rodger Owen on December 20, 1957.
Rodger and Pat settled in De Leon in 1983 after years of relocation due to his military career. Pat worked for fifteen years as a customer service clerk at Allsup's. She attended St. Joe Baptist Church for many years and later De Leon First Baptist Church with family. She enjoyed gardening, growing plants and flowers, and had a green thumb always. Pat loved her trips to go shopping at Walmart and visit with her many friends who worked there. She enjoyed listening to the Grand Ole Opry, watching the Dallas News and Kansas City Weather. Pat was a member of the Auxiliary of Disabled American Veterans and the Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Affairs. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, and dear friend to many. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her son, Richard Owen and wife, Christie; daughter, Peggy Stephens; daughter-in-law, Candy Owen; grandchildren, Albert Stephens and wife, Sarah, and Alyson Owen and Erik Sides; great-grandson, Asher Stephens; brother, Hank Schufletoswki; sister, Arlene Reidhammer; numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family. Pat has been reunited with her husband, Rodger Owen; son, Rodger Owen Jr.; grandson, George Stephens; and parents, Henry and Louise Schfletowski.
A celebration of Pat's life was held Monday, January 27, 2025, with Brother Alan Sadberry officiating. Interment followed in De Leon Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Erik Sides, Charlie Richardson, Caycee Richardson, Tony Beazley, Michael Keith, Jack Keith, and Chad Keith. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army (salvationarmyusa.org) in memory of Pat.
