Ralph Vinson, 88, of Proctor, went home to his Lord and Savior Sunday, April 19, 2015.
He was born March 1, 1927, in Funston, Texas, to Roy Jackson and Rachel Eoff Vinson. He married Bertie Vinson January 12, 1948, in Abilene, Texas.
Ralph lived in the Proctor community for thirty years. He was a dedicated and active member of Comyn Baptist Church. He retired from the iron fabrication industry where he was employed as a maintenance supervisor for Central Texas Iron Works. His hobbies included working with wood and metal and restoring old tractors. He loved spending time outdoors. He enjoyed fishing and working on his land. Ralph was very close to his family and was always his happiest while spending time with them. He was a life-long learner. He would read to learn about things unfamiliar to him and would often pass along his new found knowledge to friends and family. He was a loving husband, father, brother and friend.
He is survived by his son, Eric Vinson and wife, Susan; daughters, Nita Harmon and husband, James, and Karen Boen and husband, Harold; grandchildren, David Vinson and wife, Lindsey, James Vinson, Patricia Tillery and husband, Wade, Jason Harmon and wife, Claire, Heather Harmon and Jason Page, Jennifer Britton, Kirk Boen, Brodie Boen, Carrie Boen, Luca Abelice and wife, Joyce, Monica Reid and husband, Doug, and Francesca Hafner; numerous great grandchildren; brother, W.O. Vinson; sisters, Ellen Myatt and Jean Stinchcomb; numerous nieces and nephews; and other extended family.
Ralph was preceded in death by his wife, Bertie Vinson; daughter, Gail Vinson; son, Sidney Randolf Vinson; parents, Roy and Rachel Vinson; brothers, Roy Vinson, Jr., and Joe Wade Vinson; and sisters, Dorothy Vinson, Doris Collum and Judy Ward.
Funeral services were held Thursday, April 23, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at Comyn Baptist Church with Brother Ray Seckinger officiating. Graveside services were held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. in Clyde Cemetery, Clyde.
